Army Adventure Wing of Indian Army used to conduct High Altitude Trek to Siachen Glacier for Civilians every year in the month of Aug/Sep/Oct every year. Every year different unit of Indian Army is given the task to organize this entire camp. Interested people are advised to download the application form first and read further.
The fist edition of High Altitude Siachen Trek was held in the year 2007 and since then civilians from all walks of life are participating in it. This year a total of 45 civilians will be selected for this program which mainly includes climb up to Kumar Flb post in Siachen, which is at a height of around 16,000 ft above main sea level, and then back to the base camp. The distance both ways is 60 km.

Prior to the trekking proper acclimatization will be done in Leh and Siachen Base Camp. This is the only possibility for a civilian to visit the highest and coldest battleground on the Earth. But at the same this should not be viewed as a cake walk as one would facing great challenges which includes carrying loads on back, facing chilly winds, dealing with lack of oxygen and minus zero temperature. One will really be required to have strong will power and best physical state also.

Duration of this camp is one month which in which acclimatization in Leh and Siachen base camp, medical check up and trekking for 13 days will be done.

Applicants should be below 45 years of age. After getting selected, the participant would have to reach Leh under his/her own arrangements. There are certain documents which are required to be submitted. 
These documents are:
1) Indemnity Bond
2) Medical Clearance Certificate
3) Completely filled Application Form

Interested enthusiastic volunteers are required to apply to HQ, Northern Command, Indian Army.
