Things you need to do just after AFCAT results.

Result of AFCAT (Air Force Common Aptitude Test) is already out. While people are congratulating each others for clearing this first step towards the success, there are also those who are either unsatisfied with the marks they got or are unsuccessful and hence seeking for their next attempt. Such candidates needs to put some extra efforts in their study. This is the best time to start the preparation as each passing day will make it difficult to cover all the syllabus.



The immediate step to take after AFCAT result declaration is to choose Venue & Date for further testing. The time limit to choose AFSB venue and date is over now. One should download the admit card at earliest as the 'candidates login' option will be made inactive within few days.

Testing in AFSB is similar to that of SSB. It is all about three aspects of human personality - Mansa, Vacha and Karma. 'Mansa' part is related to what we all think in our mind. It signifies the mentality of a person. 'Vacha' is what we say and 'Karma' is what we do. The entire selection process depends on these three aspects. To assess these aspects, certain qualities are used as a parameter. These qualities are called Officers Like Qualities and are divided in four different factors.

The above paragraph is to give you an idea that the selection process in selection centres is very structured. One can not afford taking preparation lightly.

The next step should be preparing the documents which are required at selection centres. The list of documents will be mentioned in admit cards. There are instances that candidates are not admitted in selection centres because of unavailability of required documents. This is the worst condition one can face. Hence, documents should be arranged in beginning.

It is centre is located far then one should not forget to put a reminder for getting done the reservation as soon as the booking opens.

After completing all these formalities one should introspect if he/she coaching for preparation. Coaching is not mandatory but it is advisable that one should have knowledge of what all its happens in selection centres.

Daily newspaper reading is a key ingredient of the preparation. One should have the detailed knowledge of the news of national and international interest. It will help in the IO and group discussion part.

Regular exercise keeps the body mentally and physically fit. Hence one should do it regularly. A daily 2 Kms run can supplement the exercise. It will help in building up the stamina which is also considered as an Officer Like Quality.

One should spend a good time in a healthy introspection of positive and negative qualities so that there could be enough time for strengthening and developing more positivity and and minimizing negative the effects of negative qualities. Introspection a tool which will also help you in knowing the family, friends in a better way. It will ultimately help you in transforming you into a visionery.

These are some basic steps which each and every defence aspirants should follow. Apart from these there could be more ways which can help in increasing the chances of selection.
